NaturePLAY

Designed for young children

and their favorite adult,

NaturePLAY is an exclusively outdoors

nature science playdate.  

 

This child-led exploration of our natural world incorporates science, art, reading, and more.  Based on Reggio and Charlotte Mason styled curriculums, this class is aimed towards children 2 - 7 years and a participating adult.  Big and little siblings are welcome to register too! Non-participating siblings 16 mo and under are free. 

 

One Friday morning each month we'll gather in weather-appropriate play clothes, Rain or Shine!

 

Bring a SNACK, and wear clothes suitable for paint, dirt, creek play, and puddles (parents and children!)

Note: class is all outdoors, with access to covered pavilion, classroom, running water and permanent bathrooms. We'll be hiking (slowly) on easy paths.


In case of predicted severe weather: class may be CANCELED for the day and rescheduled to a make up date. In case of rain or snow, we still NaturePLAY! (Thunderstorms, in the shelter of the pole barn)

Alison Hux, NaturePLAY guide, director of Camp Foxfire, and leader of Mountain View Homeschooling  has worked as a Naturalist, outdoor educator, and nature nerd since 2004. A Georgia native, Alison is passionate about place-based education; creating future conservationists by securing a love for the land in all children. She is a literacy specialist, and certified in Montessori Early Education, Growing Up Wild and Project Learning Tree. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and Biology from GA Southern University, and her hobbies include saving turtles from cars, playing tag, and running a small homestead and micro dairy. Alison's family includes her hiking loving husband, her goat-whisperer, homeschooled daughter and a few dozen farm animals.
